The Ultimate Maldives Channel Dive
Fotteyo Kandu consistently ranks among the top 10 dive sites in the world. This wide channel on the eastern side of Vaavu Atoll combines everything divers dream about: sharks, overhangs, soft corals, strong currents, and pure adrenaline.
The channel is approximately 30m deep with spectacular overhangs along both walls. When incoming current flows, grey reef sharks mass at the channel entrance while the walls come alive with hunting jacks, Napoleon wrasse, and schools of snapper and fusiliers.
Fotteyo's overhangs are legendary. At 25-30m depth, massive coral formations create caverns and swim-throughs draped in soft corals of every color. Eagle rays rest under the overhangs while nurse sharks sleep in the deeper recesses. It's underwater architecture at its finest.
